About Me: I have been married to my wife for 22 years this November. We have 5 kids 27, 18, 17, 11(x2) and two grandkids 5 & 1. Our family loves sports, specifically basketball. We enjoy vacationing in the summer, playing games as a family on Friday nights and having family dinners on Sunday with our extended family.
Background:I am originally from Pensacola, FL, when I was about 6 or 7 my mom move me and my siblings to Los Angeles, CA where I spent most of my adolescent years and part of my adult life. While living in LA I played 3 years of high school basketball (1 year JV and 2 years Varsity) at University High in West Los Angeles where I graduated. I was selected to play on an all star team my senior year to represent the United States in Brussels, Belgium. After high school I attended WLA Community College where I played collegiately. My professional career was short lived because of injuries, however I was invited to try out for multiple NBDL teams (Roanoke Dazzle, Anaheim Arsenals, Bakersfield Jam) which is now the G League it also included tryout for the ABA. I have been coaching since 2010 which include club basketball (7years) and high school (5 years SCA). I received my Diploma from University High School, Los Angeles Career College is where I received my Certified Medical Assistant license, Brookline College is where I received my Certified Phlebotomist license, South University is where I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Marketing, NFHS National Level 3 Coach, USA Gold Coach Member, AAU Coach, BCA Member
How did I start teaching: I know its an old cliché but I did not choose coaching it chose me. I say that because my first time coaching was at my daughter’s city league game where her coach did not show up and they needed someone to fill in and I stepped in and have not look back since. I loved the game of basketball and though my playing career was over being apart of the game did not have to be. I love helping kids of achieving there dream of playing collegiate basketball and helping them navigate the waters of being a teenager, what it means to be responsible and showing them Christ.
