Get to know me!

About Me: My husband and I have two grown children. We both enjoy hiking and spending hours at the library.

Background: Graduated from ASU summa cum laude with a BA in Psychology

I taught pre-school while attending college.  I taught high school Government, Civics, Elements of Literature, Looking for the Blessed Hope Bible Class, and Vocabulary. I have taught Junior High STEM, Elementary STEMS, and homeschool classes at Calvary which included Science, English, and Chess.

I currently teach Elementary STEMS.

How did I start teaching: It is all I have ever known! I have been teaching since I was six years old. My favorite subject to teach my two younger siblings was reading. I was the proud owner of two sets of encyclopedias, a whole library of Classic hard cover books with the gilt edges, a red dictionary, a microscope, and a book of matches (just for experiments and emergencies) by age 8. I was reporter, illustrator, editor, and publisher of my own newspaper at age 10. By age 18, I had coached an elementary basketball team, taught guitar, tutored reading and math, taught first and second grade catechism, led a Brownie Troop, had a library of over 1000 books, ( I worked at a bookstore) and attended three Osmond concerts. It is exciting to discover but more exciting to share. When you teach, you share.

Favorite Subjects: In elementary it was geography, catechism, history, science, and English. In High school: Botany, Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Speech, Math, English Lit, Economics, Civics/Gov, Expository Writing. In College, it was Astronomy, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Sensory Perception and Statistics. I did not really enjoy my Death and Dying Class although very interesting but hard.

Favorite Bible Verse:1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms

Fun Fact: I really do not own a TV!
