About Me: My name is Nathaniel Pineda and I come all the way from the island of Guam. I was working in the medical field the past two years but I felt that God was calling me back to teaching which led me here to Dream City. I am excited to bring my culture and experience to the school, fellow teachers, and students. My family opened up a Christian school and church on Guam so being here at Dream City feels like home. Sports was huge in my family. My dad and uncle coached football and basketball so growing up I was always on the court or field. I still play any sport when I can but right now golf has taken over. So every Saturday you can find me on the golf course. God has brought me to Arizona for a reason and I am excited to see what He has planned for me and for the school.
Background:
I graduated from the University of Guam with a bachelors degree in Political Science. I worked at a wound care and hyperbaric clinic. I worked in the front as a front office coordinator, then trained as a hyperbaric tech, and finally moved up to clinic manager. I have also coached volleyball and basketball for the past 10 years. I’ve been teaching full time for 4 years but have been an on call substitute for 5 years. I have taught P.E. and Social Studies.
How did I start teaching:
I grew up in a family of educators so you can say teaching was in my blood, also you have to love the holidays and summers off. Jokes aside teaching at a Christian school we are blessed to not only guide the students and teach them core subjects but we get to preach the word of God to them.
Favorite Subjects: English
Favorite Bible Verse: Romans 3: 23-24
Fun Fact: I had a full ride scholarship to play college basketball in the Philippines.
