What's your favorite part about the US? "My favorite part about being in the US is relating with American people, they are really friendly and the love meeting new cultures." What is it like being an exchange student? "Being an exchange student is one of the most amazing feelings! Everyone wants to know more about your country and you will realize how beautiful your own country is. Although i think that what I loved the most was understanding that the cultures and the countries in this world are so different, but the people are so similar. I think that it's when you understand "this" that you stop judging and start learning." What made you decide to become an exchange student? "I have always wanted to live in America, so this year abroad has been the beginning of the dream."

What's your favorite part about the US? "My favorite part was to learn about a new culture and to find really good friends in "only" 8 months. " What is it like being an exchange student? "Being an exchange student can be very scary, but at DCCS every teacher is very caring with us and made it so much easier to study here." What made you decide to become an exchange student? "I wanted to leave home and learn about a new country. Learn better English and prove to myself that I can be far from my family for a long time and be responsible."

Our ESL Program builds on students’ basic English foundation, strengthening reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Through full immersion, students gain confidence and succeed in class and daily life.

Our counseling team prepares students for college success. 99% of graduates enroll in four-year universities such as Purdue, Harvard, Baylor, Arizona State, Embry-Riddle, and more.

Dual Enrollment

Through partnerships with GCU, ACU, and PVCC, students earn high school and college credit together. The program gives a head start on college, lowers future tuition, and builds confidence with college-level work.

What about the food and meals at school?

Host families may prepare lunch for you to bring to school or provide food for you to make your own. You can also purchase hot meals from local restaurants through a lunch program (additional cost).

Do I have to attend church or spiritual programs?

All students are required to attend Bible class and weekly chapel. You are not required to attend church with your host family. You don’t need to share the same beliefs, but respect is expected.

What about phones and technology?

During school hours, phones must be “off and away.” International students may contact their families from the International Office during breaks with staff present.

What do we do for fun?

We organize six major trips during the year (at additional cost) plus weekend outings, sports games, seasonal events, and outdoor activities. Students also enjoy school events like Prom and Homecoming.

Will I receive a certificate or diploma upon completion?

Yes. International students who meet graduation requirements will receive a high school diploma. Our team helps build your graduation plan, determine university goals, and prepare for scholarships.

What is host family life like?

Host families provide daily meals, a private study space, reasonable transportation, and a caring home environment. Students are expected to respect house rules, help with chores, and contribute as a member of the family.
